I noticed many of my friends picking their “Word” for the upcoming New Year.
If this concept is new to you, let me explain: choosing a yearly “Word” is a January tradition (not unlike New Year’s Resolutions) where people choose a specific and poignant word that sums up what they want to accomplish/achieve in the upcoming year.
Basically, you pick just one word that will inspire you all year and almost act as a roadmap for the direction you want to head in the new and upcoming year.
In a nutshell, it’s the perfect motivational word for the year to skyrocket your personal growth and do some powerful goal-setting. One word that acts as a guideline light for your upcoming 12 months.
This tradition is meant to be simple, yet meaningful. Words of the Year like Hope, Intentional, Resilience, Bravery, are all very common.
If this intrigues you, just know that there is no right or wrong way to pick your word of the year. And it is certainly not something engraved in stone. I’ve been known to pick a new Word six months into a new year because my goals and perspectives have changed. Just do YOU.
My Past Words
In 2015 my Word was ReFocus. Back then my main priority was to re-focus my business efforts and grow my writing work. The following year (2016) my word was Wellspring. (an original and bountiful source of something.)
But just as many times the Word I chose meant nothing to anyone but ME. For example, one year my word was Anchor and another year it was Harvest. I knew what those words meant in relation to my hopes and dreams and that’s all that mattered.
I have to giggle a little when I think back to December 2019 and I was feeling giddy about 2020 being The Year of Perfect Vision. I think we all got handed a little bit (or a lot) of a Poop Sandwich on that one. My 2020 Word of the Year was Light.
The official definition of Light is; the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. To illuminate.
To me, it also means the opposite of darkness, oppression, and heaviness. All of which apply to why this word resonated with me. Now looking back, it still was an excellent choice for my Word despite all of the global madness, sorrow, and sickness of 2020.
2020 was the Year of Perfect Vision for me: I was shown what was truly, truly important to me and my family. It was the year of discarding busyness in exchange for reflection and personal growth. Was it a hard year? HELL YEAH. But honestly, I am grateful beyond measure for these last 12 months of epic education.

Share the Power of One Word
One thing I would suggest (I’m planning on doing this with my friends) during this time of social distancing and quarantine is to rally your friends and share the idea/concept of choosing a Word of the Year. Then round up everyone for a Zoom gathering to share your Word and what that word will mean to you in the coming 12 months.
It’s positive, motivating, uplifting, and you get to virtually hang out with your friends! What’s not to love! PLUS, sharing your Word is also sharing your goals and dreams with others who will not only cheer you on but also hold you accountable (and vice-versa).
Don’t Overthink and Be Flexible
One of my dearest and wisest friends shared that she doesn’t do a word of the year because one word is too limiting. Knowing this person as I do, in her case, I wholeheartedly agree. And in some cases, that mindset could apply to how I want to grow and evolve in 2021. My solution? In 2021, I will have TWO words of the year.
Remember when I mentioned that sometimes I pick words that mean something to ME and only ME? That’s where #1 Word of the Year comes in and I’ve chosen the totally non-sexy word Onion.
Why? Because I feel like I’m still in the process of peeling back the layers of what no longer serves me to find the core of ME. Onion.
Word #2 is for my business mind and goals for 2021. Potential, to me, signifies and rallies me to acknowledge that I am filled with Potential…I just need to shift some of my daily tasks to what I need to do to achieve that potential. My business, LAMS/Franticmommy, has several “spokes of my monetizing hub” and I want to pursue those spokes with renewed vigor.
I know Sh*T. I love helping other mompreneurs/women in business and assisting them to find their Potential. I love WORDs. I am a good writer. I want to write more books.
These are the things that make me happy and when I’m happy, it doesn’t *feel* like work.
That being said, what’s your Word of the Year?
Ready-to-Go blog content (also known as PLR) is a great way to shave precious time off your content creation while also offering your readers the details and advice that they crave.
With that in mind, my “go-to” supplier of ready-made content (White Label Perks) has some new content that I am exceptionally excited about and eager to you. And I know my fellow content creators will love it too.
It’s called Rock Your Courageous New Year. The pack includes a pillar post (1,200+ word blog post), 10 drool-worthy graphics, and 30 social media updates.
If that content has you excited, make sure to check out their awesome workbook. It’s filled with valuable content (3,000+ words), helpful exercises, and a notes section (so your readers can list what they’ve learned!).
In the workbook, the WLP team shared how to overcome fear and take action successfully. You can show your people how to…
- What Does Courage Look Like for You?
- Get Clear on Your Fear
- Create a Courageous New Plan
- Feel the Fear & Face It
- Self-Care Is Essential to Courage

Here’s the cool thing: When you get your audience to embrace courage, they begin seeing the power of taking action in other areas of life. It’s pure magic to lead and coach clients through this process!

What I LOVE about the content from White Label Perks is that it shaves hours off my content creation time. If I tried to publish a workbook on my own, it would take me roughly 10-15 hours (and that’s before I get to the eCover design!).
But this pack? It’s so easy to use I can implement it in an afternoon!
To your success,
