Review of the Snowflake Stories series of award-winning, personalized, diverse books from CEO, Jill Barletti
What a delightful book to give to that special child in your life! Children love to be the stars in their stories, and this is what happens in “Snowflake Stories Personalized Children’s Books”, by Jill Barletti.
In these customized books, you get to feature your special child by making him or her the hero of the story, including his or her name in the title and story plus a photo. You choose the most appropriate story for the child, boy or girl. You also choose the appropriate features for your child, i.e. skin color, hair color and style, eye color and shape, and more.
The other characters in the story can be parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, among others. The book also accommodates alternative families. You decide the characters to include; then you choose their description. The characters take shape before your eyes.
All this is done on the Snowflake Stories website. A video walks you through the process, and then you personalize the book. You can also write the dedication.
There’s more: you choose whether the book will be written in one or two languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Italian. Families may speak English and/or another language. Parents may want to teach a language to their children.
The illustrations by Jelena Brezovec are appealing and expressive; they highlight a wealth of diversity: children of all races cooperating and playing together..
The story is engaging. In the case of the soccer game, there are some tense moments, but your child pulls through thanks to hard work and the encouragement of parents, grandparents, and others.
This is an extra special and unique book that your child and you will enjoy and treasure as a family heirloom.
