When my sweet friend Laura announced that she had written her first book, I was pleasantly surprised! But also, not surprised. Laura is freaking brilliant, and she and I have been through of crapload of fun together. She is intelligent and eloquent, and her brain is always churning with new ideas to squeeze as much joy out of life as possible.
We are the most unlikely of friends in some ways since there’s a solid 20-year age gap between us. BUT, my life is exponentially better with this amazing lady in it.
As I read Dear Mama 100 Letters of Encouragement for the Milestones of Motherhood, I found myself nodding in agreement, smiling at the memories that the letters brought back (my “Littles” are 21 and 18 now), and even shedding a tear. In a nutshell, I wish these words of encouragement and comfort were around 20 years ago when I was a terrified and green-as-grass-first-time Mama.

Her favorite things are Minnesota summers (minus the mosquitos), cake donuts with sprinkles, and escaping the frigid Minnesota winters as a snowbird in Florida.
