A few days ago, I saw the most delightful and impactful post from one of my besties on Facebook. Debbie is someone who inspires me, nurtures me, and “gets me” and all of my quirks. I love her to the moon and back.
Sometimes, we need to cross a bridge to get to a different place in life.
A bridge that has structure, is strong and safe. A bridge we cross, trusting it will support us and get us to a different place. A place we see on the horizon and want to get to.
We have to be brave, hopeful, even excited…take a breath…and step forward.
New beginnings are on the other side.

This line is so impactful for me because I believe it to my core and have even blogged about it. I’ve noticed so many amazing women in the “over 50” age group (like me) that get caught up in the “its too late for me to___” (write a book, travel abroad, learn a new skill, start a business, and the list goes on).
I can assure you that ITS NOT TOO LATE to do anything that makes your heart SING.
My mom has been asking me many questions about digital marketing and what my thoughts are on it. She shared that it interests her greatly and she wants to know more.
She is 81 years young.
Now, do I think digital marketing is a good fit for her. No. But I love love love that she’s still curious and learning during a season of life where many folks are content with just enjoying their downtime.
My mom is living proof that it’s never too late to want to try something new. She also tells me all the time that “a body in motion stays in motion.” The same is true for our minds.
When I complimented my bestie, Debbie, on her thought-invoking Facebook post and pressed her for more thoughts, she shared this;
I’d like to think at any age we are still morphing into more of who we are. Goals, encouragement, personal accountability, success new friendships- however it’s defined – personal growth is important. Sometimes, we need to cross a bridge to get to a different place in life.
THIS. All of THIS.
I know I am far from “done” even though I could retire in 5-7 years. I have so much I want to do, achieve, learn, and accomplish. And I am beyond grateful that my Higher Power blesses me with the opportunity to wake up and soak up life every day.
Sometimes, we need to cross a bridge to get to a different place in life.
I’m ready.
